My goal is to develop future leaders, so they take my job.

I’ll fire myself. I have no ego when it comes to my position.

Most companies, especially CEOs, says Elon Musk should spend more time developing the product and the people. People being customers and team members.

Without a great product, you have few customers.

Without customers, nothing else matters.

Without people to help deliver the product, everything eventually falls apart.

It’s common to see millions of dollars thrown at converting clients, but little investment goes to developing teams.

Here’s how you can start investing in your team:

Some team members want to grow, while others are comfortable in their day-to-day activities. Both are necessary.

Identify your growth players and invest in their development which is broken down into three categories:

  • Learn: they take courses, attend seminars, etc.
  • Practice: you give them room to practice in low-risk environments.
  • Execute: you assign more responsibility that has an impact.
