Why Everything You Thought About Time Management Is Wrong. How To Approach Time Instead.

In elementary school, a teacher thought it was a good idea to sit me on a T-shaped stool to help control my ADHD.

But most things in life can’t be controlled — time being one of them, and obviously my ADHD as the other.

I used to think that if I were productive, that time would bend in my favor. So, I time-blocked every minute of the day, forcing tasks into segments of time and using productivity methods to label and categorize all my tasks.

But what I learned over many years of failure is even if you’re insanely productive, you still can’t manage time.

Time is always ticking, like the Alligator in Peter Pan; never to stop, never to go away.

Be comfortable with the fact that you can’t manage time.

Time is finite.

It moves on despite your best effort to control it. But, how you view time depends on your life situation, “if you are happy, it seems to tick very fast. If you’re miserable, it goes very slowly,” says Sadhguru.
