Top 10 Reasons To Keep Work Simple

Simple doesn’t mean stupid.

When you keep work simple, it gives you mental space to work on complex problems or projects. It’s like Steve Jobs said,

“When you first start off trying to solve a problem, the first solutions you come up with are very complex, and most people stop there. But if you keep going, and live with the problem and peel more layers of the onion off, you can often times arrive at some very elegant and simple solutions.”

Simple allows you to:

1. Quickly increase your results and performance.

2. Be less stressed.

3. Solve problems or challenges.

4. Stop being overwhelmed thinking, “now what am I supposed to do.”

5. Execute faster.

6. Be more agile and flexible.

7. Focus on what matters the most.

8. Become a decision-making machine.

9. Increase your mental clarity.

10. Focus.

A two-step approach to making things simple.

First, create a list of low-hanging ideas, meaning they’re easy to do and don’t require a lot of time or money. Then make a list of home-run ideas, which are ideas that will have the biggest impact on what you’re trying to achieve.

You want to work on things that are both low-hanging and home runs.

Second, remove all the waste from a task, process, or procedure.

Waste makes things complicated.
