Someone I assumed to be lonely 🤷‍♂️

Build A Thriving Business (Or Career), Not A Prison. Every Sunday morning, you’ll get 1 actionable tip to dramatically improve your performance, profit, and potential without sacrificing what’s most important — TIME.

I couldn’t sleep without my mom!

As a kid, I’d venture into my mom’s room every night. I’d throw some sheets on the ground next to her side of the bed and cozy up, knowing I wasn’t alone. I was terrified. I hated being alone. It never felt safe or secure.

But the problem is, so many of us bring these childlike tendencies into adulthood.

In spite of social media, densely populated cities, and technology that makes boredom impossible, people have never been more lonely.

“People surround us at work, in the grocery store, during our commute, in our neighborhood. Even when we are by ourselves, we are often ‘with’ the people who speak to us through our televisions, podcasts, or text messages,” writes Michael Easter.

Yet, nearly half of Americans say they are lonely.

Build the capacity to be alone.

In our hyperconnected, everyone breathing down your neck world, it’s essential to accept that loneliness isn’t a punishment.
