The Basis Of All Misery Comes From This One Thing (Fix It To Enjoy Everlasting Pleasantness)
Most misery is a lie.
It’s a story we tell ourselves within our minds. Several years ago, someone I was working with said something ill to me. I cannot remember the details because emotions took over my brain, and I unconsciously reacted. I went on a hysterical yelling spree because I let a man’s words pierce me.
But they were only words.
He didn’t stab me with a knife. He didn’t truly “hurt” me. It wouldn’t have affected me if he had said the same words in a language I didn’t understand.
I created my misery based on how I reacted to words.
Misery is anything that is in a compulsive state of action.
Just think about all your desires.
Desires are beautiful until they become obsessive. So your misery is almost always self-inflicted.
The way you react to words/thoughts is what causes so much pain.
To control misery, you must learn to act consciously.
Consciously acting allows you to see things for what they are. The man’s words wouldn’t have impacted me. I would have acknowledged his ill statement, kindly rejected them, and…
