The 4 Deadly Rs of Hiring (Do These At Your Own Risk)

Hiring is like a disease.

If you don’t prevent it or give a body ample resources to fight it, it’ll eventually spread and make you sick.

A bleak example, no doubt, but when you hire right, everything else becomes easier. Hiring is a pillar of great leadership. The ones who can recruit and retain the best team members win.

Getting hiring right is essential, which is why, when hiring, you must always avoid these four Rs:

Rushing out the job ad.

Nothing good comes from rushing.

You need to think through your job and craft a job ad that resonates with your target team member.

You’re not trying to recruit, everybody. You’re trying to recruit the best candidate who can produce the necessary results for the role you’re hiring.

The job ad must reflect this.

Rushing into an interview unprepared.

Hiring is about being focused.

Some days it may feel like you’re in a rush to hire someone, anyone, but that’s wasteful.

Go into an interview prepared with the right questions and a clear way to evaluate the candidate.
