How To Live Peacefully By Banning This One Terrible Communication Habit

You’re either a gossiper or being gossiped about.

Gossip has become a primary form of communication in today’s society. It’s like a computer virus infecting its host and spreading through the network. The words we use, to ourselves and others, have immense control over our life.

As Don Miguel Ruiz says, “we must begin to understand what the word is and what the word does.”

Your words have a lasting impression, whether they’re true or not.

When people gossip, they’re inflecting their own biases, assumptions, and beliefs about something they likely know nothing about.

They assumed something to be true and gossiped about it. Their words begin to spread and inflict, penetrating deep into people’s lives — their life.

Use your words for good rather than creating a cycle of pain.

How to stop gossiping.

Be impeccable with your word. Use it for love, not evil. The words you use are more dangerous than you realize, not only for the people you’re trying to hurt but for yourself.

You are a collection of your words.
