Here’s How To Keep Going When You Want To Quit (Hint: 40% Rule)
Are you giving up to soon?
The constant chatter of your brain telling you you’ve had enough. “It’s too much.” You can’t take any more.
But that’s an excuse — your mind wants you to tap out when you’ve just begun.
Follow the 40% Rule.
David Goggins uses a mental model called the 40% rule.
“When your mind is telling you you’re done, you’re really only 40 percent done.” Your mind is being weak. It’s up to you to push through mental adversity and own the process of what you’re trying to achieve.
Knowing you still have a 60% capacity will fuel you to do more.
Challenge yourself to dig a little deeper. Become mentally strong in the things that matter the most to your growth. When you’re mentally strong, you can push through adversity while everyone else sinks to the bottom of mediocrity.
If you want to be mentally strong, work on these:
- Get rid of your limiting beliefs. You are what you tell yourself.
- Practice being uncomfortable. Always being comfortable makes you mentally weak.
- Stay disciplined. Temptations will try to sway you, but don’t let them.
