As a business owner, I see this both ways. If I haven’t created a culture or a place that has a mission and purpose greater than what someone can make on unemployment, shame on me.

I know this can’t be the case for every company, but we must think beyond this.

If someone can get unemployment (which doesn’t last forever) and they prefer that over what they can make as a salary working on my team, then I failed them or I need to readdress my minimum wage to compete.

But I also need to compete beyond salary alone.
