A Core Value Every Company Should Adopt To Out Execute The Competition

Most companies are terrible problem solvers.

And the crazy part is, most problems aren’t problems at all. They’re a situation that has occurred in the past that needs a simple solution in the future.

They’re a temporary challenge.

A challenge is a situation that tests your ability. You can accept the challenge or let it be.

Recently, one of my Account Executives was annoyed, and rightfully so, that a vendor had delayed an order for over sixty days, and the delivery date kept getting pushed back.

He was so focused on blaming the vendor and our purchasing team that it never occurred to him to see if we had alternative options to propose to the client. And we did.

If he had just looked past the core problem, he would have seen we had a similar inventory item.

With a simple clarification on the issue, and the ability to accept problems, then solve them, he would have resolved the challenge for the client months ago.

After some coaching, he got the point, but too much time had already passed.

Most problems are quickly fixable.

A core value every company should adopt is accepting…
