8 Deceitful Body Languages To Spot A Possible Liar

No one likes being lied to, yet everyone lies.
You first catch deceit through body language. But a lot of signs have mixed meanings. So you must understand the context in which they’re being applied.
Just because people tend to do these things while lying doesn’t mean people won’t do these things for other reasons like being afraid, anxious, or nervous.
Use them as a sign, then explore if deceit is being delivered:
Deceitful Body Language
1) Maintaining eye contact.
Liars understand people look for someone’s inability to keep eye contact, so they’re overdue it. They stare at you like a hound spotting a pigeon.
2) Excessive blinking, then suddenly stopping.
When people are drafting a lie, they’ll blink more as they tell a lie. Then, they’ll quickly stop to maintain strict eye contact.
3) Looking up and right.
When looking to the right and up, the brain often uses an area that allows for creativity. In this instance, creativity to craft a lie.
4) Body language that isn’t consistent with the words.
If a person tells you how happy they are, but their body language shows signs of discomfort, they’re probably lying.
5) Stiff posture.
Liars tend to remain stiffer. They carry tension from hiding their deceit.
6) Touching their face.
People who are lying will frequently touch their mouths and eyes.
7) Fidgeting.
Some people will fidget as an attempt to release nervous energy created by the crafting of their lie.
8) Arms crossed.
This non-verbal cue shows the other person is closed off and wanting to disengage. Sometimes liars will do this not to give themselves away.
