6 Ironclad Tactics To Sell Your Strategic Focus Across The Company
Having a strategic focus is meaningless if you’re not prepared to courageously do whatever it takes to spread the idea throughout the company.
1. Live It
Every leader must live the big objective.
Suppose they’re caught engaging in conduct contrary to the big objective. In that case, the leader loses credibility, and the value of the big objective weakens amongst the team.
2. Sell it
Every leader’s first responsibility is to sell the big objective throughout the company.
Those who can’t are unfit for the job and must be replaced.
3. Quickly Deal With Cynics
As Bill Zollars says, “the first time we talked to people, maybe we got ten percent on our side. We just kept going back with the same single consistent message. Then the number grew to fifteen percent and then twenty-five percent. When you get over fifty percent you’ve got critical mass on your side and as new people come into the company, they buy in to the new culture.”
It’s a leader’s responsibility to be Chief Repeat Officer, constantly repeating what’s most important.
