4 Simple Mindfulness Techniques That Will Transform Your Day

Mindfulness practice has transformed every aspect of my life:

Parenting, husband, leader, business, communication — all of it.

Without mindfulness, you’ll live a mediocre life because everything is about some past or future. You’re controlled by the whims of your desires and emotions, constantly pulled into the volcano of distraction.

These are the mindfulness practices I use every day:

Technique 1: Corner Glimpsing

I learned this from David Cain.

It helps you break free from your mental chatter and drop your thoughts “into the background for you to really look at something.”

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Recognize you’re overthinking.

Step 2: Direct all your attention to any physical corner. “Spend a few seconds looking at the corner, noticing its simple shape and color.”

Step 3: Turn your entire head, not just your eyes, to a different corner, and look at it for a few seconds more.

Step 4: Repeat this to ten different corners, glimpsing at each one for a few seconds.
